Work is crazy right now kids. Let’s get right to it.
A/B Group – Joe “Cousin Joe” Cook vs. Mike “Big Donkey” Harris – this is a match I look forward to every year. Sure, there is a family rivalry that adds fuel to the fire. But, I’m willing to bet CJ losses sleep over the fact that his cousin owns him in this series. The overall record of these two stands at 1-5-2 with CJ on the losing end. I don’t know much, but I know Joe woke up this morning and the first thing he thought “I’m play Big Donkey” tonight. As for the match, I haven’t looked at the scores this year but I’m willing to bet Mike hasn’t shot anything over a 42. The man is flat out playing great golf in the 20th year of the GCCGL. Glossy prediction – Mike wins 6-4.
C/D Group – Oliver “Goldie Locks” Livermore versus Troy “Gobstopper” Bachmann – these two have only met once historically. Ollie won the previous match 6-4. If anyone recalls, the best part of this match-up was the verbal altercation before the first tee shots were struck. Troy made Goldie Locks know this match was going to be played straight up…no shenanigans with lost balls, excessive fluffing in the rough (that is a fun thing to say….excessive fluffing) and all penalty strokes will be counted. Ollie had none of it and handled his business that night. Will the big man try to get in Ollie’s head early again this year? Or will he go quieter, more subdued route? Be on the first tee to find out. Glossy prediction – Troy wins tonight 5.5-4.5
Note – I did pick against both of my teammates…let’s see if there is any truth to the MOW jinx.
