Wash Out

[dc]T[/dc]he good news is we had perfect attendance!  There were 20 of 20 golfers ready to tee it up.  The bad new is unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate.  After a pretty nice day for most of the day, the skies opened up just as the first group was teeing off.   Oh well.  Let’s face it, after not experiencing a single rain out in 18 weeks last season, it was bound to happen.  Make sure to hold on to your rain checks and hopefully we’ll be able to use them next Thursday.

By the way, everyone made it on time (thank you for that!) but it didn’t matter as the league in front of us got off to a late start and started off extremely slow.  If this happens again next week, we’ll talk to the clubhouse to get it rectified.

A big thanks to Mr. Rayburn for keeping the troops entertained during the rain delay.  About the only exciting thing that happened was  the spotting of a extra bright rainbow on the horizon.  However even the sheer mention of the rainbow by some members drew jeers and sarcasm from the group.  It’s a tough crowd.  A few of the guys for some reason decided it would be a good idea to start up play after the first storm.  Unfortunately for them, they got caught in even a worse storm the second time around.

So the Week 1 schedule is scratched and we will officially begin the season with the Week 2 schedule.  The Rayburn/Rinesmith matchup in my opinion is the most interesting matchup of Week 2.  We may need to have an HR representative available to walk with that foursome.  We will tee off on the back nine of the Pioneer for the next two weeks.  Check out the new poll question.  Looks like the best team name for 2011 belongs to Sphincter Says What.  I think all the names this season are actually very good and creative.

Hope to see you on the course.
