KREYLING KORNER – WEEK #13 – 07/16/05
THE LIPSMACKER MATCH OF THE WEEK
Team event = no Lipsmacker for you.
THE KREYLING KORNER
The third major of 2015 commenced today on the Old Course at St. Andrews. I will admit – I woke up early to catch some of Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson’s front nine. Anyway, if you are a golf fan – it’s easy to fall in love with the Old Course. Every time I watch these pros tee off on “The Road Hole” (number 17), I promise myself I will play it before I die (and Pebble Beach for anyone that cares).
The other thing I love about these world renowned courses is that each and every hole has a name. As discussed above, hole #17 at the Old Course is “The Road Hole.” Hole 18 is known as “Tom Morris.”
Ironically enough, this morning I received an email from Cousin Joe on this very topic. Joe suggested that in honor of the British Open, we name each hole of the Pioneer front nine. In determining hole names, input was sought from Joe Cook, Mike Harris and Mitch Smith. Needless to say, it was a hilarious email chain. Below is the list we agreed upon (or was appropriate enough for the blog).
Hole 1 – Shut-up Already
Hole 2 – Kevin Ware
Hole 3 – Judas
Hole 4 – #upandoverit
Hole 5 – Pit Stop
Hole 6 – Landing Strip
Hole 7 – The Road Hole
Hole 8 – Easy Like Sunday Morning
Hole 9 – Glory
I can’t wait to hear the chatter about this list on hole Shut-up Already.
Until next week – fairways and greens my friends.
