Fashion Tip #10 – August 8, 2013

THE LIPSMACKER MATCH OF THE WEEK:

It’s sad to say but this will be the last Lipsmacker Match of the week of the 2013 season.  Fortunately for us all, there are some “doozies” for the last match play event of the season.  In pouring over the head-to-head matchups this week – two things stand out.  First – most of the matches are even.  5 pairings have faced off more than one time.  And of those 5,  3 of those match ups are either exactly at .500 or right about:   Ollie and Syndrome – 1-1; McLinn and Cember – 1-1-1; Almeida and Carrier – 3-2.  Now what makes this even better – McLinn and Almeida’s team (Free Pork Sandwich) is in a tie for first place.  These are matches both cannot afford to lose.  Will the succumb to the pressure?  Of course they will – Carrier and Cember are on my team.  And we are just too pretty to lose…

The second thing that stands out – 2 of the 5 matches are blow-outs.  Harris and Duer have played 5 times and Harris has a perfect record of 5-0.  I’d like to say I think this is Duer’s week, but Mike has found his game late in the season.  He shot under 40 the last two weeks on the back of the willows.  Another thought – two of the 5 wins for Big Donkey have come on the front of Pioneer with the biggest points differentials – 4 and 5 respectively.

The other blow-out.  Goldie and Lip-Gloss (I will be referring to myself in the third person for the rest of this email).
Goldie is a perfect 3 and 0 against the Glossy One.  But there are some interesting trends.  All 3 of Goldie’s wins have come on the back of the Pioneer.  The point differential has also shrunk with each match: 5-3-2.  Goldie is also a member of the team Free Pork Sandwich who is tied for first place.  These are matches they cannot afford to lose.  Does a new course and the pressure of winning the coveted GCCGL trophy get to Goldie Lox?

I realize Lip-Gloss didn’t pick one match – there are a lot of good ones so make your own Lipsmacking pick…

THE GLOSSY FASHION TIP OF THE WEEK:

“It’s 106 miles to Chicago.  We got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, its dark and we’re wearing sunglasses……….hit it.”
Quite possibly one of the funnier lines ever written in a movie.  But you know what is not cool – actually wearing sunglasses when it’s dark.  Glen – we don’t care if they are prescription glasses or not.  When it gets dark, dark sunglasses CANNOT help you see the ball better.
