2022 Draft Order

Ladies and Gentlemen of the GCCGL, the 2022 season is drawing near.  Last time I saw most of you punks was week 19 of the 2021 season.  That’s right, I ditched week 20 for two reasons.  1.) My team (as usual) was completely out of reach of first place. 2.) I went on a little golf trip to a course on the west coast known as Pebble Beach.  And you guessed it – I’m throwing in two of my favorite pictures from that trip (you’re lucky it’s only two).

The first – my tee shot from 18.

The second – my old man walking up 18 smoking a cigar.

I could go on and on about how awesome Pebble was, and all the courses we played for that matter, but I’ll save that for another Thursday over a couple beers.  The real reason I write this blog today…the draft.

With the beginning of each GCCGL season comes a renewed hope.  A hope to capture the ever-elusive GCCGL trophy.  For some of us (yours truly) the thought of winning a championship seems like a daunting task – entering my 12th season and I have ZERO championships.  Others, like Big Donkey, approach the start of the season with a renewed vigor to further cement his legacy in the record books in pursuit of a 9th championship.  For the losers, the winners, and everyone in between the start of the GCCGL draft is a new beginning.

THE KREYLING KORNER

As Harris noted in his email to the league, for the first time in 27 years, the draft will be LIVE on March 24, 2022 at 6:00 PM at Macs Pizza and Pub in Highland Heights, KY.  I love this fresh take on an important aspect of the league.  That being said, I believe it’s time we also improve the timeliness of publishing the draft order.  This will allow the class drafting, this year the A players, the appropriate amount of time to research and plan accordingly.  In addition, Mike will have all the necessary information needed to publish a “mock draft.”

Now, before I publish this years draft order, I have one bone to pick with this years 2022 draft guide.  Harris – the breakdown by player is insightful and entertaining.  An all-around job well done.  Serkan – I want to make sure you read your assessment correctly.  You are “ONE of the better dressed golfers in the league.”  Do not mistake this line for THE best dressed in the league.  Golf style still rolls through the office of Lip-Gloss…and will until I leave this league.  #truth

Without further ado, below is the 2022 draft order.  See y’all on Thursday.
