2021 – Week Two

How about Kurt “Lip Gloss” Kreyling huh? KK was the only player to break 40 this week and he did it under really tough conditions. The man shot par for Pete’s sake. Could this be the year that KK gets the proverbial monkey off his back and takes home the coveted GCCGL trophy? It’s taken 10 years but, I think LG has finally figured this league out. Don’t underestimate him boys. His golf swing has never been better and he’s even off to a winning start in the MOW after picking Swiper. Meanwhile, he’s back out there in the dating pool galavanting all over the place. Is it me or has he slimmed down a little? I think KK is hitting the weights and mixing in a little cardio for good measure.  Also, I’m pretty sure that was a new Bad Birdie ensemble he was wearing last Thursday. It looked good. It accentuated his hips and really brought out his eyes. One more thing, what the hell is wrong with me? I have this queazy feeling in the pit of my stomach as I’m typing this. What’s does this mean? Am I confused?  No…..no….. I think it was just a bad piece of pork from last night. Never mind all that nonsense.  Anyway, like I said, don’t underestimate the 2021 version of Lip Gloss. He might just sneak up on you.

I really don’t have much to blog about this week. I’m thinking about adding a new segment to the blog this season named “Golfing with Leininger”. I’ve golfed with Ben a couple of times over the years and he’s a good kid who has some game. One minute you are best buds, clanking flasks together like drunken cowboys in a saloon. The next minute, you’re looking over your shoulder wondering if you’re going to be buried in one of the newly constructed sand traps. Ben got really mad at the group, mainly Syndrome and I, for not helping him look for his ball on the last hole. First of all in our defense, we didn’t know this was a requirement. Had we known, we surely would have spent a few more minutes looking for his ball. Second, it was getting dark and we still had a group behind us so we had to keep it moving. Let’s face it, it would have been physically impossible for our group to have played any slower than we did. Ben, take some advice from and old man, have some fun out there.  It could be worse, you could be checking the toilet for blood after every “movement”. Always remember, the three hours you spend on GCCGL Thursdays, will always be the best three hours of your day.

The big winners this week were Jerry’s Kids (25.5 pts.). They were led by Meat and Swiper who both nabbed 7 points each.  Dustined to Fail followed right behind with 23.5 points. They were led by the man of the hour, Lip Gloss, who took 9 points.  Rounding up the top three was Rollin’ 60’s who finished with 22.5 points. They were led by Boot Boy who grabbed 7.5 points. The low net winners were Lip Gloss (A/B) with a low net of 32 and Parvesse (C/D) with a low net of 34. Congratulations to the winners! Finally, we are still working through issues on the blog. We know the ranking and positioning is not working correctly on the Team Standings Leaderboard as well as a few other issues on the backend that are causing Cupcake and I much angst. We are working to get this resolved a quickly as possible. We move to the back of the Willows this week. We hope to see you on the course and as always, hit ’em straight!
