Week 14 – 2-Man Combined Score!

Week 14 – July 28th the 3rd non-match play event on Willows Back 9 playing a 2-Man Combined Score.

Simple.  Each team gets to select each 2-Man team.  Each person within the 2-Man plays their own game (with their own handicap) against another 2-Man team.  The 2-Man team with the lowest combined handicapped score wins the hole.  Do this for all 9 holes and score 1 point for low net (just like normal match play with singles, only with doubles).  The most points a 2-Man team can bring home is 10 points thus the most points the 4-member team can win is 20 points for the week.

Example
2-Man Team (Harris/Bedell) vs (Goldenberg/McLinn)
Hole 1 – Par 4
Harris shoots his customary Par of (4)
Bedell shoots bogey (5)
The total score is 9.  Now apply the HC for each person.  In this example we’ll say it is 0 for Harris and a 1 for Bedell.  After subtracting the HC, the final score for this hole is 8.

Goldenberg/McLinn shoot a 9 after applying their HC.  This means that Harris/Bedell win that hole.  It is basically the same scoring with single match play but just with doubles.

There is definately some thought that must be given when selecting your 2-Man teams.  That’s what makes this week very interesting when it comes to scoring.

The low net winners will split the pot.

2-Man matches will be selected from a hat a few days prior to July 28th.

Good luck!
