Kreyling Korner – Week #7 – June 25, 2020
LIPSMACKER MATCH OF THE WEEK
Last week was a little crazy and, unfortunately, I didn’t get to put anything together for Kreyling Korner. This week has been just as bad, but I want to at least hit the league with a MOW for week 7. Morell took the L in week 5 which brings my overall MOW record goes to 2-2. Hmmmm….who to pick in week 7?
Week 7 MOW – Mike “Swiper” Ethridge vs. John “Syndrome” Rayburn – What? Did the league have a different idea for MOW this week? Overall, Rayburn has the upper hand in this match-up with a record of 2-1. Swiper comes into week 7 with a team in fourth place (China Virus), a mere 5.5 points outside of the toilet bowl. Mike has had a great start to 2020, with a perfect record of 3-0 and 19 points, putting him in a tie atop the win percentage category. Syndrome has a team, Gout My Fairway 2.0, that sits in second place only 6 points off the lead. His strong play in 2020, 2-1-1 with 22 points, is a huge reason his team is right in the thick of things. John currently sits tied for third on the points leaderboard.
GLOSSY PREDICTION – This match is going to be interesting. On one hand you have Syndrome, who generally isn’t used to giving strokes, much less 4. On the other hand, you have Swiper, who isn’t used to getting as little strokes as 4. John has been playing more golf in 2020 than he ever has. Mike has joined a country club and been taking lessons. Who do you pick in this situation? At the end of the day, I still think Rayburn has a mental edge over all his opponents. I believe his overall match record at 2-1 supports this theory. For that reason, I’m going with Rayburn until Ethridge can prove otherwise. Rayburn wins 5.5-4.5.
