2020 Draft
The 2020 GCCGL Draft is in the books and once again, it provided us with a few surprises. Before we begin with the first annual GCCGL Draft Analysis blog post, I’d like to thank co-commissioner Lip Gloss for putting together another great draft event! None of you really know how difficult it is to get all of us Yahoos on the same page and coordinated enough to pull this off. This year’s draft was completed in just over an hour which might be a record, I don’t know. At any rate, it’s not easy. A lot of thought goes into the draft order and for good reason. We want this to be fun yet competitive. Even with all our good intentions, it only takes one person to go off script and throw a wrench into our perfectly laid plans.
About 9 minutes into the draft, it took a bad turn when The Assassin went rouge and bypassed Snoodles, Lip Gloss and the Disgraced President (3 A-Players) for Nick “Potter” Duer opening the door for another wild and crazy draft. As word of Serkan’s pick circulated through the Internet, the masses started to congregate and blow up the phones. In an exclusive that you’ll ONLY get here, we’ve obtained the private storm of texts that erupted during the 2020 GCCGL draft. No real names were used to protect the privacy of the members involved.
So there you have it. Another extraordinary example of investigative journalism. No “fake news” on this blog! Or is it? You’ll never know. Finally, as all of you are aware, things are very fluid in regards to the COVID19 virus. The government extended the self-quarantine time frame until April 30th. We do not yet know what this means for the golf league or access to the HH building. As of this very moment, the league is still on schedule but we want to hear from all of you.
