Week 7 Update
[dc]O[/dc]nce again folks, sorry that I wasn’t able to update the website last week. Between vacation and travel, I just plain didn’t get a chance. I’m winging it this week since I wasn’t there. I assume the weather was nice but hot. I see we had 18 of 20 golfers show up with an impressive 4 subs filling in. Thank you!
I’m looking at some of these scores being posted on the back nine of the Willows (the hardest nine that we play) and I’m impressed! What in the world is Matt (The Politician) Bedell drinking these days? Why is he “The Politician”? Cause we can’t dig up any dirt on the guy. He’s squeaky clean. Whatever he’s drinking, order me a boat load. A net 31 on the back nine of the Willows? Are you kidding? Big Mike Harris posts a net 32. Did he complain about his HC taking a hit? When you shoot 4 under your HC, it deserves to go DOWN! Super sub Jennifer Dominik scores a net 33? Cletus never had a chance….. It is heating up and now we move to the easiest nine for the next two weeks (Pioneer Front).
This season is proving to be an exciting and unpredictable. For example, The Heywoods, next to the Handi-Capped, have been one of the steadiest teams all season but they took a shellacking this past week. They managed only 10.5 points. Meanwhile Sphinter Says What who’s been inconsistent all season, turned in a monster week moving into sole possession of 2nd place. They have a BIG week and grab 26.5 points thanks to Dominik who filled in for Almeida. I’m guessing my team has already started trade talks (and she’s not even a GCCGL member……yet). Gunga Galunga was led by another sub, Tyler Hausfeld, was mered in a slump and buried in last place but grabbed 22 points and are now huddled together for third place (but they’re still last). The Handi-Capped, who were led by Mike Harris hung on to collect 21 points and are still in first place but things are tightening. The Cletard Rollers played it even and managed 20 points and are sniffing around the 3rd place spot along with Gunga and The Heywoods.
The winners of the low net prizes were Big Mike (A/B) with a low net of 32 and Matt Bedell (C/D) with a low net of 31! It was a clean sweep for the Handi-Capped for the money this week. Congratulations fellas!
Like I said, we move to the front nine of the Pioneer this week for the next two weeks. Check out the poll question. As many of you know by now, I “won” the honer of being the “face” of GCC a couple of weeks ago. The article and picture will be published in the Enquire on June 19th. As usual, we were in the 17th row, 24th from the end next to the lady in the BIG hat! Just kidding. I’ll post the pic on GCCGL.com when it comes out. Also, we have the Pot Luck in two weeks. Please hang around if you can for the Pot Luck picks. It should be fun. Hope to see you on the course!
