New handicap system in place!
[dc]A[/dc]fter many weeks, countless hours and secret meetings, the new handicap system is in place. All prior scores have been transfered. Some of you may notice the HCs have changed slightly across the board.
Now that the new handicap system has been put in place, we are ready for the 2011 GCCGL draft. This year the “B” players will draft. Co-commissioners Allen Bloomhuff and Jason Nill will be conducting the draft sometime during the week of April 4th. Once the teams are selected, PLEASE pick your team names and send them to George Almeida. Hopefully we’ll be a little more creative than we were last season in regards to the team names WITHOUT being too risqué. Remember, the league reserves the right to decline team names that are deemed not appropriate and also assign team names when one is not picked.
Also, we have many new substitutes this season many of which wanted to play full time but could not because of the 20 player limit due to the tee times. Please take time to review the Substitutes list. We should have another stellar attendance year with all the new and old subs participating this season. Finally, check out the new poll. We are kicking around the idea of who should play who. Make your voice heard by voting. The league will take the poll into consideration when making the 2012 schedule. For the 2011 GCCGL season, we will most likely keep the matches between A/B’s and C/D’s.
You can see all the handicaps under the Statistics section. Also see the new Scoring Report section which replaces the old Handicap Corner.
The calculation method used to calculate the 2011 GCCGL handicaps is as follows:
Use the last 20 scores
Use the best 90% of scores
Use 80% of full differential
Using a minimum of 1 scores required
Handicap is based off of course rating
