New GCCGL Website Launch

[dc]W[/dc]elcome to the newly designed GCCGL website!  The new site has been completely redesigned to allow more interaction with all who visit the site.  The site is now more of a blog site which is more in line with how the league uses the site.  Folks will now be able to comment on posted articles which should lead to some interesting dialog throughout the year.  Other authorized users such as co-commissioners will now have the ability to post and update articles online. Other enhancements include a Search bar which allows visitors to search articles instantly.  You’ll still find some of the old GCCGL website around, especially where statistics are involved.

We have obtained a new handicap system which is in the process of being populated.  This system will offer the league more flexibility than it had before and also resolve some issues that the old Parsons system had (not recognizing the year 2010!).

Other new features include a new Photo Album where all GCCGL photos cannot only be found but also searched.  If you have any photos you would like to include in the GCCGL Photo Album, please send them to George Almeida and they will be posted.

A new ShoutBox has been added and hopefully will stay secure.  New security measures were put in place with the new design which will hopefully keep spammers away but you never know.

Other features will continue to be researched and enhancements will be made as time allows.  We hope you like the new website.  As always the GCCGL strives to offer its members not only good golf but to give their members the ultimate golfing experience.

Comments
You can now comment on posts and share your opinions.  Just select the Add Comment tab and type in your comments and then select the Submit Comment button.  The very first time you comment on an article, it will be sent through an approval process and quickly posted.  Once approved, it will show up in the comments section.  From that point on, your comments will show up immediately.  Please consider registering in order to avoid having to enter in your email and name each time you comment.  See the instructions below regarding how to register.

Registration
Registration is fast and easy.  Look for the Login box at the bottom right side of the website and click the Register link.

New GCCGL ShoutBox
The ShoutBox is back again.  It has been a GCCGL favorite but over the years it has been hacked time and time again.  With the new website comes new security options.  Hopefully this ShoutBox will stay secure and we’ll enjoy many years of light-hearted banter amongst fellow GCCGL members. Type in a user name, your email address and a password.  The request will go through an approval process which will take anywhere from 15 – 30 minutes.  You will receive a confirmation email at which time you can now login using your new GCCGL account.

Archives
Now there are more archives than ever.  All posts are archived automatically and organized in a monthly format.  All Polls are also archived automatically.

Search
Searching the GCCGL website is now available.  Please keep in mind that it will only search the new “blog” pages and not the older GCCGL ASP pages.

Photo Album
The new GCCGL Photo Album make its debut.  Not only can you relive the GCCGL moments on digital media but you can now rate each photo as well.
