Kreyling Korner – Week #13 – 07-17-14
THE LIPSMACKER MATCH OF THE WEEK
This week’s MOW is Zeke Knechtges vs. Danny Roller. A lot of league members may think this is an interesting choice. It’s fair to say both men have had better years – Zeke’s individual record in 2014 stands at 2-4-2; Roller’s is 3-6. As always – the intangibles make this match worth watching. Schmuck Dynasty fell out of the #1 spot last week and they are looking to Zeke for a win that will ultimately inch them to a league title. Das Boots continue to slide deeper in the cellar. The embarrassment of losing to the bottom dwellers, Balls and Dolls, still has to sting. The team Captain and A player, Snoodles, was absent in the defeat. But none the less, he has been quoted as saying “I just want someone to shoot their handicap against me.” Does Zeke follow-suit against poor Snoodles and go low this week? It’s too close to call…
The Glossy’s prediction – Zeke’s getting 3 strokes and that propels him to a 5-5 split.
Side Note: Anyone on the Balls and Dolls team taking offense to being called bottom dwellers…sorry, but there is no way around it. You’re 63.50 points out of first and 43.75 points out of 5th place! Keep your heads up – there is a chance at low-net money every week!
THE KREYLING KORNER
By now, most of the league members know next year is the 20th anniversary of the GCCGL. The commissioner’s office has been tossing around different ideas on how to enhance the already awesome GCCGL experience. I want to use this week’s Kreyling Korner post to officially launch one of my ideas. I think each league member should have introduction music….and the music should be playing as said member tees off. Take that one step further – we could make a tunnel on the first tee and let each member run through it before they tee off (with music playing of course).
Obviously this music would be selected by each individual to fire them up before the round. Which got me thinking, what would each league member choose? The list below is my best guess. Keep in mind some songs were picked based off an individual’s nickname, others based of a member’s character traits, and other’s simply because I can picture that person dancing to the selected song. Feel free to debate the musical choices in the comments section.
