Kreyling Korner – Week #13 – 07-07-16

THE LIPSMACKER MATCH OF THE WEEK

1-1 in week #12 and the overall record goes to 6-11-1. Why would I ever pick Cupcake over Big Donkey?  I backed up my STONE COLD PICK OF THE YEAR with the dumbest pick of the year.  On to week #13!

A/B Group – Kurt “Lip-Gloss” Kreyling vs. Mike “Radio” Tucker.  I’m not sure if any of you faithful readers of Kreyling Korner have ever noticed, but I generally do not like putting myself in the MOW.  I have a handful of reasons, the MOW jinx is a real thing (more on that later) and not wanting to pick myself to lose are just a couple.  But this week is different…because I play Tucker.  You could say this all started when we had our 1 hole play-off on 18 of the Willows back in 2015.  Most everyone knows the story so there is no need to rehash it here.  In fact, I was over the whole incident and was generally trying to be nice to Tucker.  That’s until week #13 of the 2016 season.  If there is one thing I hate, it’s someone that does nothing but talk…  And Tucker, don’t say you haven’t talked.  The first I heard “Tucker just really wants to play and beat you” was like a month ago. On Monday I was stopped by someone who sits on the second floor of GC (a person I rarely see) and this individual said “Tucker is ready to play you this week.”  If all that wasn’t enough – I have it on good authority that Tucker actually bet Cletus that he would bet me straight up!  Well Radio – your day has come.  I can say this – writing this paragraph and thinking about you running your mouth has done something.  It’s actually made me want to beat you MORE than anyone I’ve ever played in the GCCGL.  Thank you Tucker – this is going to be fun.  GLOSSY PREDICTION – Lip-Gloss wins 6.5-3.5.  Who’s ready to play?

C/D Group – Jason “Cupcake” Nill vs. Oliver “Ollie” Livermore – Everyone knows I made the statement that I’m going to put Jason in the MOW for the rest of the year.  But, I’m actually worried it might ruin his golf game for good.  He started complaining being in the MOW in week 8, and that’s where this whole idea started.  I’ve actually gone and looked back at his rounds since week 8, and it’s really bad:

Week #8, Willows front 9 – 50

Week #9, Willows back 9 – 64

Week #12, Pioneer front 9 – 54

Let this since in for a minute, he hasn’t broke 50 since he complained about the MOW. Does that mean I’m going to stop?  Of course not!  I might feel slightly bad if he keeps shooting bad scores, but it’s still hilarious.  Tonight he gets Ollie and two strokes.  Will the two strokes be enough for a rare Cupcake victory?  Will this be the week he breaks 50?  GLOSSY PREDICTION – I doubt it.  But I’m still picking him to win because I really do find this funny.  This is going to be a close one, but Cupcake ends up victorious 5.5 – 4.5.
