2019 – Week 2
IMPEACH HIM NOW
by GCCGL guest blogger, Syndrome
I hate to blow my first GCCGL blog chance with a silly political rant, but seriously, someone has to say something to try to end our long national and golf league nightmare. The Mueller report has been out for a couple weeks now and even with all of the redactions, it’s plain to anyone with eyes that this man is unfit to participate.
And, now that Cupcake has sent out the scoring and stats, it is even more clear that the guy must go. We all know about his embellished and inflated resume on LinkedIn and can only wonder what that means when he records his golf score. Rumors abound that he’s got the best eraser in the league (sorry, Ollie, you’ve been surpassed). Sure, people on the other side of the border in Harrison refer to him as El Jefe, but he’s not my councilor. El Jefe must be impeached.
Wait, you thought I was talking about Trump? Good lord, no. I’m talking Dr No-show. Retired from the chair force. The guy with the worst attendance record who after two seasons still doesn’t get the concept that you should try to get a sub if you’re going to miss. Or, at least let your team mates know, so they can try to get one.
If nothing else, do this for his own personal safety. He’s team mates with the player closest to the intensity of Bill Belichik – Cuz’n Joe. If he no calls / no shows many more times, who knows what Joe might do.
El Jefe must be impeached. Rant over.
Keeping with the political theme, though, I’ll paraphrase Ilhan Omar when I say some people came to the front nine of the Willows and did some things, very few of which looked like golf. I shot a 58 – 6 over my handicap and went 0-17-2 against the league. My new pull cart was rockin though! Lots of likes on my Insta. Roller whiffed. There’s more I should say on that but I don’t remember most of it and this is already running long.
Duer won low net in A/B…shocking exactly no one. Leininger and Ethridge won low net in C/D. Looks like the switch from vodka to bourbon for Leininger has paid off.
Another big week for Wrath of Serkan with 22.5 points. I called it on the tee last week. These guys are going to run away with it. It was definitely a feast or famine night. Almost every match was 6 – 4 or 6.5 – 3.5. The only close match was Morell and Kreyling at 5.5 – 4.5. Who knows, that might have been a MOW but some people claim to be busy at work doing work. Whatever.
