2015 – Draft

2015GCCGLDraftIt was a dark, stormy morning at the GCCGL confines where the 2015 draft took place precisely at 9:14am, Friday, April 3rd. To no one’s surprise, Eiser took Big Donkey with the first pick of the draft and word has it that he has already predicated a championship.

There were some surprises. Danny “Snoodles” Roller, a projected 1 or 2 pick, dropped all the way down to the overall 5th pick of the draft behind Prince Albert. This came on the heels of a 2014 Championship for Snoodles! How’s that for respect. Speaking of respect, or lack thereof, how about Cletus going from B to D in one season? As the draft labored on and Cletus’ name was still on the board, his disappointment could no longer be contained. He was seen leaving the building in somewhat of a haste. His eyes a little redder than usual and his hair a bit disheveled. The reason of course had to do with his draft position dropping faster than the collective IQ score at a TSA convention. To make matters worse, he winds up on Bleeker’s team where he is more than double the age of any of his new teammates. To be fair, Bleeker had no choice but to pick him. With Bleeker, Prince Albert and Brooks on the team, who’s going to procure the libations during their team events? I kinda feel bad for old Cletus. I mean, what is he going to talk about with his 20 something teammates for 2+ hrs during a team event? They have nothing in common. Cletus will have to explain virtually every pop culture reference initiated before the 90’s. This younger generation today thinks “The Clapper” was, and still is, a venereal disease. They thought ALF was an acronym for the Animal Liberation Front. I’m pretty sure that Bleeker’s generation thinks “Donkey Kong” is a euphemism for “making dookie”. It’s painful and upsetting. So the next time you’re ready to pounce on old man Cletus for pulling one his gags, remember who he has to play with this season.

Another interesting team that amassed at the end of the draft was Team Eiser. I’m not 100% sure but this team could be the heftiest team assembled since reunion of Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi and the Blues Brothers Band. No kidding, there are some heavy hitters on this team, no pun intended. They are led by their captain, Joe Eiser along with Big Donkey, Gobstopper and Syndrome. Listen, I’m no skinny chicken but those boys are pretty big. On paper, that team looks tough to beat. It seems their biggest obstacle standing between them and a championship is an extended summer heat wave. There’s no shortage of team names for this group. Take a look at your 2015 GCCGL Teams. Overall it was a good draft.
