THE LIPSMACKER MATCH OF THE WEEK
I cannot get two wins in any given week. That challenge gets even harder this week with Pot Luck. Overall record is 7-9. Let’s do this!
Match #1 –Joel “Lite?” Miller vs. Nick “Potter” Duer – Love this match-up this week. Potter felt “post-trade” pressure last week, losing his first match of 2017. Meanwhile, Joel keeps mowing down opponents in his silent assassin sort of way. Pot luck brings a lot of questions, particularly can the A/B players overcome a boatload of strokes. I think this one is particularly interesting given Duer only has to make up 3 strokes. I know that sounds like a lot, but that’s nothing in Pot Luck week. This one really is tough…but I’m giving the nod to Joel this week. Only because he won for me last week. And as Roy McAvoy says “you ride her until she bucks ya, or ya don’t ride her at all.” Five for points to LG for blogging a quote from a golf movie! Suck on that Georgie! GLOSSY PREDICTION: Miller wins 5.5-4.5.
Match #2 – Brian “The Executive” Robinson vs. Brian “Scratch” Turnwald – Ahhhhh….the dual of the Brians. This is another match-up I find incredibly interesting because we have the exact opposite situation versus the match above. In this bout, Turnwald is giving Robinson 9 strokes. I don’t think many would argue that Scratch is one of the best golfers in the league, but strokes are the great equalizer. A stroke a hole is a big obstacle to overcome. However, B Rob has been absent the last two weeks because he has been busy with work and vacationing in Hawaii. I’m thinking his game may be rusty. Still, this is going to be a close one. GLOSSY PREDICTION – Turnwald wins 5.5-4.5.
THE KREYLING KORNER
Boys, this week has been rough so I don’t have time to do much of a Kreyling Korner. Why don’t we talk about this week’s survey results and everyone can argue with / humiliate the slowest players in the league. The league has spoken and the slowest player is…Mike Tucker with 86%. The top 5 (including ties) are below. 21 people responded in case you were wondering.
Mike Tucker – 86%
Allen Bloomhuff – 71%
Oliver Livermore – 71%
George Almeida – 57%
Mike Harris – 52%
Dave Fusting – 52%
Until next week – fairways and greens my friends.
